BMW i8 and i3

At this years Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW displayed their previously unveiled i8 and i3 concepts. The sporty looking i3 is a lightweight electric car that is made from a combination of carbon fiber and aluminum, and has a maximum range of 100 miles. The i8 is a speedy plug-in hybrid that is capable of a sub five second 0-60mph time, and is rated at 87 miles per gallon. Both the i3 and the i8 are currently concepts, but are set for a production run starting in 2013.
